2. Fill out an Application for Admissions. GEM students are considered a Non-Degree seeking student at Bismarck State College.
When applying, for your education goal make sure to choose "Complete Courses but not a degree" and for your academic major/program choose "Non-Degree".
Also, on the Supplemental Questions make sure to choose "Non-Degree Student" for you admit type.
If you would like to apply online and pay your application fee (if applicable) by credit card, check card or electronic check, please go online to the BSC web-based admissions application. Note: You must have a valid email address to apply online.

3. Application Fee payment. There is a $35 application fee for all students applying to Bismarck State College. This fee may be paid online with your application.
Any student who provides documented proof of active military duty status will have the fee waived. Proper documentation includes a copy of one of the following: - Common Access Card (CAC) - Military ID indicating Active Duty Status - Orders indicating Active Duty Status A copy of the documentation may be faxed to the Admissions office at 701-224-5643 or emailed to BSC.Admissions@bismarckstate.edu.

4. Non-Degree Seeking Requirement Verification.The Non-Degree Seeking Requirement Verification form is a requirement of Non-Degree seeking students to ensure the understanding of the non-degree student status.
Non-Degree students are not eligible to receive a degree or federal financial aid from Bismarck State College.
If you wish to receive a degree or federal financial aid, you will need to re-apply to BSC as a degree seeking student and meet all the admissions requirements. You cannot become a degree seeking student in the middle of a semester, only before the beginning of a semester.
By submitting this form you are stating that you understand the limitations of being a non-degree seeking student.

5. Assessment. All students who plan to take an English or Math course must submit appropriate assessment scores prior to enrollment. If you have not previously completed a college level Math and/or English course, an ACT score is required for students under age 25. For students 25 and older a COMPASS or ACCUPLACER score is required. - ACT scores more than five years old and COMPASS or ACCUPLACER scores more than three years old are considered expired.

Upon completion of your application, you will be contacted by email within 2-3 business days about the status of your application. Once your admissions file is complete, you will be notified by email that you are eligible to register for courses.
